Biography

Dr. Hari K. Rajagopalan joined the Francis Marion Faculty in 2006. He is Associate Professor of Management as well as Dean of the School of Business at Francis Marion University.

Dr. Rajagopalan teaches Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, and Decision Theory and his area of research is in Emergency Medical Systems and Supply Chain Management.  His research has been published in a number of academic journalsincluding  European Journal of Operational ResearchComputers and Operations Research and Decision Support Systems. His research has been presented in a number of national and international conferences.  He has also worked with the Emergency Medical Systems department in  Charlotte, NC and British Columbia in Canada on a number of projects.

He was awarded the Joanna R. Baker Memorial Graduate Fellowship in 2005 for his research on the use of Information Technology in Public Section more specifically Ambulance Location and Emergency Medical Systems , The Faculty Life Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship in 2011 for overall excellence in research, the McNair Research Grant in 2012 for applied research that focuses on the general human needs of the Pee Dee region and the Eugene Fallon Jr. Professor of Production Management in 2012.

Dr. Rajagopalan started his career as an Mechanical Engineer designing aircraft engines, after his MBA he worked extensively in India, Malaysia and Singapore designing and implementing ERP Systems.  He also has a Masters in Computer Science and his PhD is Information Technology and Operations Management.
